Challenge
A leading EV battery manufacturer based in the United Kingdom needed to comply with the European Union Battery Regulation (EUBR) to ensure transparent and sustainable battery production. The customer faced complexities in understanding regulatory requirements, defining workflows, establishing material traceability, and coordinating multiple stakeholders across the value chain. Delays in addressing these gaps risked slowing down compliance readiness and impacting operational efficiency.
Solution
Tata Technologies partnered with the customer to design and implement a comprehensive battery passport management platform tailored to EU regulations. The engagement started with project leadership and the development of detailed specification documentation to define objectives and align stakeholders on a unified approach.
The team developed and deployed an end-to-end platform capable of real-time data capture, simulated and live data consumption, and automated tracking of battery materials across their lifecycle. A dedicated gap identification assessment was conducted, resulting in a clear mitigation plan to close compliance gaps efficiently.
To enable enterprise-wide visibility and collaboration, the solution was seamlessly integrated with the customer’s data lake, ensuring consistent information flow between systems and partners. The approach provided the foundation for long-term regulatory alignment and sustainable operations.
