The customer wanted to improve traceability, accessibility, and compliance management across aircraft maintenance documentation and MRO operations. However, limited visibility into legacy maintenance forms and aircraft service history, improper mapping of technical documents to specific aircraft series, and difficulties maintaining lessor and lessee documentation aligned to aircraft tail numbers after repair activities were impacting operational efficiency, document management, and compliance readiness.
Solution
Through close collaboration between aerospace engineering, MRO, and AI teams, Tata Technologies helped the customer transform maintenance documentation workflows with an AI-powered maintenance record intelligence platform designed to improve traceability, compliance readiness, and operational productivity across MRO operations.
We implemented an automated aircraft maintenance document digitization framework powered by Vision LLMs capable of interpreting and processing legacy aircraft forms, technical documents, and maintenance records. The solution eliminated manual data entry efforts while improving maintenance traceability and accessibility across aircraft programs and repair activities.
To accelerate maintenance intelligence and document retrieval, we extracted critical maintenance attributes from unstructured documents and converted them into searchable, structured digital records. This enabled faster access to maintenance histories, technical references, repair information, and aircraft-specific compliance records across the MRO ecosystem.
We also deployed secure, on-premise Qwen3-VL AI models to enable high-performance document intelligence processing while supporting data security and regulatory compliance requirements. The solution was aligned to S1000D and iSpec2200 standards, enabling audit-ready maintenance documentation, improved lifecycle traceability, and more efficient compliance management for aerospace operations.
