The customer was using Windchill 12.1 M20 but was not realizing its full potential. Large volumes of unreferenced data, unclear management of engineering and manufacturing bills of materials (EBOM and MBOM), and misaligned change and release processes created inefficiencies across the product lifecycle. The organization needed a structured approach to improve governance, usability and process alignment.
Solution
We delivered a comprehensive Windchill implementation and consulting program designed to improve PLM adoption, streamline processes and establish a scalable digital engineering environment.
Our team assessed the customer’s existing PLM landscape and identified opportunities to improve product data management, process governance and system utilization. Working closely with stakeholders, we developed a roadmap to align engineering and manufacturing processes while maximizing the value of the Windchill platform.
To simplify long-term maintenance and improve upgrade readiness, we replaced customized functionality with standard out-of-the-box capabilities wherever possible. This approach reduced complexity while ensuring key business requirements were retained within the new environment.
The engagement extended beyond software implementation. Tata Technologies managed the procurement, installation and commissioning of supporting hardware and software components, providing a complete solution under a single program. We also migrated customer-specific modules and data using proven migration methodologies to ensure continuity and data integrity throughout the transition.
