The customer was using Windchill 8.0 M40, a legacy PLM system that had reached end-of-support status. Extensive customizations, a complex data model and cumbersome data management processes increased operational challenges and made future upgrades difficult. The organization also needed to modernize its underlying infrastructure while preserving critical business processes and minimizing disruption to users.

We delivered an end-to-end PLM modernization program, taking ownership of software migration, infrastructure deployment and user enablement.
Our team developed a unique solution that extended beyond a traditional PLM upgrade. Along with migrating the Windchill environment, we managed the procurement, installation and commissioning of all required hardware and supporting software, providing the customer with a complete, integrated solution.
A key objective was to simplify the highly customized legacy environment. Through detailed process and functionality assessments, we replaced customized capabilities with standard out-of-the-box (OOTB) features wherever possible, creating a more sustainable platform that would be easier to maintain and enhance in the future.
The engagement also included migration of customer-specific finance modules and associated data. Leveraging systematic upgrade routines and proven migration methodologies, we ensured data integrity while minimizing project risk and business disruption.
To support adoption, Tata Technologies’ PLM and domain experts worked closely with users throughout the implementation, providing training, knowledge transfer and hands-on guidance. The project was managed within the Windchill environment, enabling greater transparency, governance and execution control.
